When most people think of Silicon Valley, technology, venture capital, and the corporate headquarters of thousands of technology business like Google and Apple come to mind, but the Peninsula is also home to a diverse set of public recreational amenities like Stevens Creek County Park. This 1,063-acre park includes an 82-acre non-power boating reservoir, historic Villa Maria orchard, shoreline picnic facilities, over 9 miles of trails, and a 28 station roving archery course and range. The park is between Fremont Older Open Space Preserve and Picchetti Ranch Open Space Preserve and is located in the foothills between Saratoga and Cupertino.

Bird-watching at Stevens Creek County Park

Stevens Creek is a popular place for bird-watching in the Silicon Valley community and is the location of 125 sighted bird species. Just a few of the unique birds that have been spotted at Stevens Creek are the wood duck, great horned owl, hooded merganser, common merganser, black phoebe, snowy egret, and great blue heron. Water Sports at Stevens Creek County Park

The gentle waters of Steven Creek Reservoir make it the perfect place for paddlers and kayakers to practice their sport and enjoy stunning views of the reservoir. Kayaks and stand up paddle-board rentals are available to rent at Stevens Creek through Outback Adventures. The rental facility is open on Saturdays and Sundays from mid-May through mid-September from 11:00 A.M. To 5:00 P.M.

Picnicking at Stevens Creek County Park

Stevens Creek is the perfect place to have a scenic picnic on your vacation, business trip, or weekend family outing in Silicon Valley. Sit, down, relax, and enjoy your outdoor feast in a lovely setting by the reservoir. Six picnic areas are available on a first-come, first served basis at the Lakeshore picnic area. Reservations are recommended for groups larger than twenty. Call (408) 355-2201 Monday-Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm for group reservations.

Hiking/Biking/Horse Back Riding at Stevens Creek County Park

Hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders will be in heaven on over 9 miles of single track and multi-use trails. These trails provide the perfect place to get out, get some exercise, and marvel at nature. Visitors who enjoy horseback riding may rent horses at nearby Garrod Farms.

Archery At Stevens Creek County Park

Archery buffs will love the 28 stations public roving archery course and range at Stevens Creek. Bowhunters Unlimited offers free Archery lessons for groups of five or less on the first Sunday of each month, March through October from 11 am to 4 pm. Visitors must make a reservation for the free lesson. The range is also available for the public to use free of charge and is open from sunrise to sunset.
